Metalpress dished heads can also be used for the construction of tanks, drums and containers, including cryogenic vessels, for the chemical and pharmaceutical sector.
Available in different diameters, edges and surface finishes, the dished heads must meet some basic requirements:
- excellent resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures and pressures
- high mechanical and structural strength
- storage capacity for long periods or resistance during transport and to external stress.
The materials that we generally machine for this type of product are:
-
304 and 304L stainless steel
highly resistant to corrosion, thermal shocks and external stress. The 304L variant can also be used in cryogenic environments, therefore it can be easily used for pressure tanks and for tanks that require a high degree of resistance to weathering.
-
316, 316L and 316Ti stainless steel
More resistant than 304 steel and with excellent anticorrosive properties, it is particularly suitable for the storage or processing of heavy chemicals.
-
Duplex steel
Particularly resistant to corrosion and very strong, it is widely used in the desalination and petrochemical industries.
-
P265GH carbon steel
It is a material suitable for the production of pressure vessels, boilers and heat exchangers, thanks to its resistance to heat, good weldability and characteristics suitable for cold forming.
